Senior Maintenance Technical Specialist

The Senior Maintenance Technical Specialist will support all technical aspects of the industrial plant, including low voltage systems, PLC controls, and instrumentation, while also training maintenance personnel and interfacing with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the manufacture of safe, quality food observing all Good Manufacturing Practices, being alert for bio-terrorism and reporting off standard or abnormal conditions
Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of pasteurizing equipment (CCP's and CQP's). Report problems with the food safety management system to the designated management personnel (Food Safety Team Members)
Ability to effectively troubleshoot all technical areas
Ability to provide “on the job” training to maintenance mechanics
Sets up, conducts and evaluates training (both class and practical)
Maintains open communication with all employees including department managers
Continuously seeks new ways of improving performance and controlling costs. Works close with maintenance on variety of issues related to equipment, department maintenance and preventive maintenance programs
Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes
Manages plant projects
Actively works on production floor facilitating the exchange of data between various departments
Ability to learn new skills quickly and applies information from equipment manuals and vendor contacts
Knowledge of various high and low-voltage systems
Knowledge and understanding of PLC controls, programs and systems as well as operator interface systems
Knowledge of variable frequency drives for motors, DC motors and drive systems

The ideal candidate must have the following attributes/skills: strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be dependable and be able to work well in a team environment
Basics mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages)
ANSI electrical schematics
Process and Instrumentation Design
Process Instrumentation including RTDs, Pressure Sensors and Flow Meters
PLC Programming languages including Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagrams and Structured Text
Variable Frequency drives, Allen Bradley and Yaskawa and Servo Drives and Motors
High School Diploma required
Preferred
Dairy or other food related experience preferred
Food industry (process and packaging automation) is preferred
Associate's degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering Technologies preferred
