The Assistant Director of Graduate Financial Aid will determine eligibility and awarding of scholarships while advising graduate students on financial aid programs and budgets throughout their time at Sargent College.

Responsibilities

Determine eligibility and awarding scholarships and other funds in consultation with administration
Process financial aid documents
Advise all graduate students across several large graduate programs at Sargent College
Counsel students regarding various financial aid programs and budgets
Educate students on options, procedures, and repayment of federal financial aid
Contribute to all aspects of financial aid support to graduate students during admission and throughout their time as a graduate student
Provide complementary administrative support of graduate enrollment efforts during peak times of the year
Coordinate with Sr. Director of Graduate Enrollment & Strategic Communications and their team for general admissions administration, operations related to the Slate platform, enrollment events, and other graduate enrollment tasks as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree, master's preferred
Five years of professional experience in higher education student financial aid management
Sensitivity for multicultural, disability, and socio-economic diversity with an awareness of best practices
Diplomacy and dependability in collaborating with students, faculty, staff and resources across the University
Experience supporting data-informed decisions
Experience serving diverse student populations and a demonstrated commitment to racial justice, equity, and inclusion
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to work sensitively to support students to make informed decisions
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues across the university
Openness to learning new reporting platforms and procedures

Preferred

Interest in health-care professions and the role of AAU/R1 universities in the US higher-education system
Previous knowledge and familiarity with BU's student information systems is a plus!
