HR Attorney
PrismHR is seeking a flexible, experienced In-House Employment/HR Lawyer to join their team. This role involves providing expert legal counsel on employment and HR-related legal matters, ensuring compliance with laws, and advising on employee relations.
Responsibilities
Advise management on a wide range of employment law matters, including best practices, regulations, and potential risks
Review, draft, and update company policies and procedures, including the employee manual, to ensure full legal compliance
Advise on and recommend resolutions for employee disputes and complaints, working closely with the Executive Team
Assist in drafting and negotiating employment contracts, severance agreements, and other legal documents
Conduct training sessions for staff on employment laws and policies to promote a compliant and informed workplace
Stay current on changes to employment laws and regulations, informing key stakeholders and helping to strategically plan for the legal impacts of business decisions
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree
Active Florida Bar License
Five to ten years of proven experience as an employment lawyer
Extensive knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and legal procedures
Excellent communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong negotiation skills
Self-motivation
Proficiency in Windows Office
Experience in handling employee complaints, disputes, and litigation
Preferred
Knowledge of Spanish and/or Creole
Experience in a corporate or business setting
Experience working with and advocating for a low-income community
