Oakland University is seeking a Social Skills Group Facilitator to lead social skills program development and implementation aimed at improving the quality of life for participants with Autism and their families. Responsibilities

Lead social skills program development and implementation with the goal of improving the quality of life of participants with Autism and their families

Lead social skills groups for children, teens and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Supervise all participants at the program

Implement positive behavior supports when needed

Communicate with the Program Coordinator on a consistent basis

Deliver each class on a weekly basis

Enroll up to 10 participants per class

Manage multiple classes based on enrollment

Required

Bachelor's degree from university or college in social work, counseling, psychology, special education, or related field

Minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder

Positive attitude with high energy that has genuine interest and understanding about Autism Spectrum Disorder

Ability to work independently and creatively with little direction from supervisor

Dependable, detailed oriented, organized and punctual

Must be a team player with strong communication skills and flexibility when needed

Preferred

Master's degree from a university or college in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Special Education or related field

Prior experience in facilitating social skills groups for individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferred
