Mammography Technologist

They are seeking a Mammography Technologist who will operate mammography equipment, perform examinations, ensure accurate body positioning, and provide care and support to clients during mammogram procedures.

Responsibilities
Operates mammography equipment and performs various mammography-related examinations to produce radiograph images for clinical screening and diagnostic purposes
Ensures accurate body positioning and provides mammograms to women under direct supervision
Implements radiation safety standards and relevant policies into imaging practices
Processes and evaluates the technical quality of images
Delivers care and support services to clients before, during, and after mammogram procedures (e.g. explaining procedures, answering inquiries, etc.)
Maintains records and updates history associated with mammography
Educates women on the importance of mammography in preventing breast cancer
Demonstrates knowledge and an understanding of anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology
Maintains continuing education credits as necessary
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures
Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols
May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures
Qualification
Required
Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) is required
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required
Certified or obtain ARRT certification in Mammography within one year of hire
When applicable, maintenance of a valid driver's license and good driving record is required
If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required
