South Texas Health System is seeking a Neuro Endovascular Tech to assist interventionalists in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. The role involves ensuring quality control, verifying orders, and interacting with hospital staff regarding patient care and concerns.

Responsibilities

Assists interventionalist in performing Diagnostic and interventional procedures
Performs quality control procedures as required by the manufacture
Evaluates all orders, verifies them with cardiologist and ensures proper lab results and history for contraindications if applicable
Familiarized with various interventional equipment and wires to assist the interventionalis
Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions
Responsible and accountable for maintaining performance skills
Routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status, when needed

Required

1 year prior experience in Neuro endovascular procedures
Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer
Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology
Currently licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in the State of Texas
Current ARRT Licensure (Technologists that are exempted from the ARRT certification must meet the requirement on Public Law 97-35.)
Must have and maintain current BCLS certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider's Program
Trained in Interventional Angiography
Able to operate a power injector
Able to assist interventionalist in performing procedures to various parts of the body from head to lower extremities
Familiarized with contraindications for contrast
Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the proper procedure is being performed

Preferred

Membership in related professional organization
Current certification in Interventional Angiography
