Production Control and Planning Intern - Summer 2026

Responsibilities

Gain exposure to production planning responsibilities at our Garner, IA headquarters and satellite locations in Northern Iowa
Support utilization and efficiency of our MRP/ERP system (e.g., Infor) for production scheduling and planning
Assist in analyzing production schedules, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending improvements
Collaborate with Inventory and Manufacturing teams to ensure material availability and timely production
Monitor work order progress and schedule adherence
Collect, organize, and analyze production data using SQL and Excel
Develop dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to communicate production insights
Document current planning processes and identify inefficiencies or gaps
Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for planning improvements
Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives
Assist in formulating and updating departmental policies and procedures
Create planning documentation, process flows, and business case summaries
Other projects and duties as assigned

Required

Currently enrolled undergraduate student studying Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
At least two years of concentrated coursework in relevant disciplines
GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
Experience with SQL for data extraction and analysis
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Quick learner with a proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably Epicor) and manufacturing processes
Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and concepts

Preferred

GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
