The successful candidate will focus on research related to rheumatic autoimmune diseases, engage in high-level publications, and mentor junior scientists while also participating in departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities
Writing and publishing research in high quality peer reviewed, scientific journals
Attending and making presentations of research at national and international scientific conferences
Developing national and international scholarly reputation
Instructing and mentoring junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, and residents and fellow trainees
Participating in department, college, and university committees and initiatives
Conceptualizing, planning, designing, implementing, and conducting research studies in the area of rheumatic autoimmune diseases
Developing and writing grant proposals to maintain funding to support research program
Obtaining and maintaining NIH R01 or equivalent funding
Qualification
Required
Doctoral degree in Immunology or related field (MD or MD/PhD)
A strong track record of high-level publications
A strong track record of ongoing robust peer-reviewed research funding -- NIH R01 or equivalent funding
