Electrical Engineer - Power Generation
SolveNow is a company specializing in power generation, and they are seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead and provide technical expertise on conventional power generation projects. The role involves developing electrical deliverables, managing project budgets, and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities
Function as a project lead and/or technical expert on assigned conventional power generation projects and teams
Develop electrical drawing deliverables, including:
One-line and three-line diagrams
Electrical motor schematics, breaker control schematics, and wiring diagrams
Power cable sizing and cable schedules
Complex engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting (ETAP or SKM), arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM), protective relay settings, battery and charger sizing
Develop electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction
Create man-hour budgets and project schedules
Attend on-site meetings, investigate existing conditions, interface with stakeholders, and provide construction support
Provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, and engineering codes
Ensure compliance with quality programs and provide guidance to team members
Prepare complex engineering deliverables and calculations; oversee data collection and management
Manage project budget, schedule, and quality requirements
Delegate tasks to junior team members and review their work
Coordinate with internal and external project team members on moderately complex projects
Support business development activities and communicate client requirements to project teams
Serve as a technical specialist, providing consultation and guidance on complex engineering challenges
Mentor junior professionals and participate in career planning and learning development initiatives
Assist with resource management and may oversee engineering resources for small groups
Handle administrative responsibilities such as policy implementation, timesheet approvals, and process adherence
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience in utility-scale conventional power generation project design
Previous engineering consulting design experience in LV/MV conventional power generation (combined cycle, simple cycle plants)
Quality Assurance / Quality Check (QA/QC) and project lead experience
Ability to work within schedules and man-hour budgets
Familiarity with applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards
Experience with electrical equipment including MV and LV switchgear, secondary unit substation transformers, UAT, panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverters, batteries, battery chargers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors, medium voltage cables, low voltage cables, control cables, and fiber optic cables
