Traveling Safety Manager

Cross Safety Management is dedicated to reducing the national average of deaths and injuries in the construction industry. They are seeking a Traveling Safety Manager to manage and enforce the Site Safety Program for assigned projects, ensuring safety compliance and promoting a culture of safety on job sites.

Business Consulting and Services

Responsibilities

Ensure the behavior of the crew (when working on a client site) is in accordance with company safety culture
Understand the lagging and leading safety indicators and promotes a philosophy that achieves established goals
Identification of job site/area specific safety requirements, safety equipment, material procurement, training requirements and tracking of training
Manage and enforce Site Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage
By using and enforcing job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Site Specific safety program, the Safety Manager shall ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident free project
Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Site Specific policies and owner/contractual requirements
Conduct daily and/or weekly (as appropriate or specified by job) job site inspections
Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports
Investigate, corroborate, document, all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite
Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws
Conduct weekly 'Toolbox Safety Meeting' and document content and attendance
Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees
Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guideline
Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations

Required

Thorough knowledge of Construction Industry methods and OSHA standards
OSHA 500 or BCSP Certification
Reliable Transportation
Must carry valid Drivers License
5-10 years safety experience in construction industry
Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows

Preferred

Bachelors degree in field of Safety
