Responsibilities

Design, develop and optimize complex SQL queries / Python scripts that support interest rate risk, forecasting and other treasury analytics on state-of-the-art platforms including Databricks and Snowflake. Includes query tuning to ensure optimal execution, identifying data attribute enhancements that lead to additional insights and consulting with stakeholders to deliver target insights
Analyze deposit performance across key client attributes and seasonal events to help inform client segmentation analysis, becoming a subject matter expert on cross line of business impacts to deposit liquidity on our fortress balance sheet
Collaborate with our finance partners to understand and evaluate economic data releases and their impact on financial forecasts, synthesizing the downstream impacts to CCB treasury analytics
Build and nurture relationships across the firm, influence colleagues at all levels in a dynamic, high-stakes environment as you serve as an internal consultant tackling major business challenges ensuring timely delivery
Leverage existing tools and techniques to create repeatable processed for intelligence creation while integrating the newest in technology advancements to further reduce errors and maximize the speed to insights

Required

4+ years of full-time work experience in quantitatively focused roles
Experience using scripting/programming languages and statistical packages (e.g. Python, SQL, R)
Practical knowledge in financial analysis, competitive analytics and data management
Bachelor's degree in quantitative, analytical or financial subject area including Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or equivalent work experience
Advanced Excel use including structured process to prototype and solution analysis which is easy to follow, helping to answer complex and/or ambiguous questions
Working knowledge of retail banking and products
Excellent communication skills both written (Presentation/PowerPoint, Memo/Word) and verbal with experience in debating complex concepts with key stakeholders

Preferred

Highly self-motivated, thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, and have passion and intellectual curiosity to find and capture business value
Familiarity with Hyperion Essbase, Dodeca, PitchPro, Tableau and relational data structures
Strong understanding and proven experience in using statistical methods and algorithms used in segmentation and clustering (e.g. K-means, hierarchical clustering) for business use cases including customer profiling, customer segmentation and data mining
Desire and/or progress towards MBA, CFA charter, CPA, CTP or other financial certification
Demonstrated ability to understand the underlying business context of data
