Bachelors Level Internship

Fernbrook Family Center provides internships for Bachelors level students in fields such as Social Work and Psychology. The intern will engage in observation of clinical activities and assist with non-clinical tasks under the supervision of a qualified site supervisor.

The student intern works under the direct supervision of the agency’s qualified site supervisor
All services provided by the Intern will be reviewed by the Supervisor
Provide skills services to children, adults, and families
Complete all documentation according to content and quality standards
Collaborate and consult with internal and external providers
Actively seek out supervisory consultation and direction as needed
Complete mandatory trainings for skill maintenance or enhancement
Regularly attend and engage in a way that meets your needs in staff meetings and group supervision
Communicate and reflect Fernbrook Family Center’s mission internally and externally
Comply with agency policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelors level student intern work done under the direct supervision of a qualified site supervisor from Fernbrook
The student intern will engage in observation of clinical activities and work on non-clinical activities related to their specific discipline and consistent with their individual learning requirements from their program
Bachelors Level Interns are not responsible for the supervision of other employees
They are expected to coordinate services with other Fernbrook employees who share caseloads
The student intern works under the direct supervision of the agency's qualified site supervisor
All services provided by the Intern will be reviewed by the Supervisor
Provide skills services to children, adults, and families
Complete all documentation according to content and quality standards
Collaborate and consult with internal and external providers
Actively seek out supervisory consultation and direction as needed
Complete mandatory trainings for skill maintenance or enhancement

Prolonged periods sitting, listening, and observing or working on a computer
Physical health and stamina to work on a consistent basis with children and adults who have varying needs
Occasional situations may occur where staff need to be able to lift up to 15 pounds
Positions that require community based client contact must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, valid automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record
Must pass criminal background check based on agency and Department of Human Services requirements
