Financial Reporting Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Assists with preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Oversees monthly consolidation and translation process using the company’s consolidation tool and works with United States and International accounting teams to review subsidiary financial statements for accuracy
Reviews intercompany eliminations and works with United States and International accounting teams to correct any discrepancies
Prepares monthly consolidated statement of cash flows
Prepares monthly financial reporting packages for senior management
Collaborates with other departments to gather information necessary for disclosure
Remains current on FASB and ASU developments and assists with technical accounting research including analysis, preparation and implementation of new accounting standards
Participates in maintenance of documentation and execution of financial reporting internal controls
Provide support to Finance and Treasury teams regarding debt agreements and related accounting
Provides assistance to external auditors as support is needed
Develops and implements process improvement initiatives related to financial reporting
Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met
Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
Performs other requested tasks and duties

Required

College degree in Accounting required
2-5 years minimum experience with public accounting firms and/or financial reporting experience; retail experience a plus
Strong knowledge of US GAAP/technical accounting principles and internal control processes is required
Based in Dallas/Fort Worth area
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
Strong computer skills: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and strong proficiency in Excel
Ability to research technical accounting matters and document accounting policies
Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, prioritize diverse tasks, and respond quickly to management requests
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information

Preferred

CPA, active license status preferred
Experience with Cognos Controller, Microstrategy, MultiView and/or Workiva a plus
SOX and internal controls experience a plus
Knowledge of industry business and passion for following trends in the industry
