Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
Be a business partner with operations leader and oversee implementation of shop floor improvement projects and document progress
Lead cross-functional projects to introduce new products and processes into manufacturing (NPI/NPD)
Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to establish lean manufacturing systems
Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities
Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues using tools like 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping)
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and production teams
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Monitor and report on manufacturing performance metrics (OEE, yield, cycle time, scrap rate)

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering roles
Proven experience in process design, production optimization, and new product introduction (NPI)
Experience managing and implementing CAPEX projects
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.)
Knowledge of GD&T, SPC, or pFMEA
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing simulation tools
Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment and processes
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams

Preferred

Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, Lean Certification)
Experience in material handling equipment a plus
Hands-on experience with CNC machining, automation, or PLC programming a plus
ERP/MRP system knowledge (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
