BGM is seeking a bright, motivated, and service-minded student for our Financial Planning Internship Program. The internship is designed to provide meaningful client-facing and operational training and experience for a candidate currently enrolled in college and majoring in areas leading to a career as a Financial Advisor.

Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of preparation for client meetings, including asset allocation, cash flow projections, and retirement planning scenarios

Participate in client meetings, track follow-up items, and complete them with input from the lead advisor

Assist in the portfolio management process to gain hands-on experience with our investment approach and theory

Complete firm projects that may encompass firm operations, business development, wealth management, and investment management

Collaborate with the administrative team to understand the paperwork and processes involved in opening accounts and resolving client issues, gaining insights into common challenges and their solutions

Assist in reviewing tax returns to identify and recommend tax-efficient strategies for clients

Gain experience, exposure, and knowledge of the profession

Required

Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Business, Finance, Economics or related field of study

On track to, or interest in completing CFP certification

Able to work effectively both on a team and independently

Enthusiastic and willing to learn

Have strong verbal and written communication skills

Residing in the Hennepin County area during the internship

Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
