Responsibilities
Lead survey operations, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and ensure the successful execution of projects in both the public and private sector land improvement projects
Responsible for all aspects of a surveying and geomatics group, overseeing both field and office operations including field crews and technical staff supporting public and private sector land improvement projects
Initiate and maintain professional relationships with key personnel and officials across various organizations and companies
Plan, organize, and supervise survey crews, technicians, and other staff to ensure efficient and accurate project execution
Administer contracts and manage projects by interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments; schedule and assign work to meet project deadlines
Lead the planning and development of surveying projects involving unique or controversial challenges; explore subject areas and develop innovative concepts and approaches
Prepare detailed proposals for potential surveying and geomatics projects
Independently manage all aspects of monthly billing processes
Qualification
Required
Over 10 years of progressive experience in surveying management, leading teams and overseeing complex projects
Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in North Carolina
15+ years of land surveying experience, including extensive work with NCDOT and the City of Charlotte
10+ years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
Proficient in survey computations and platting using Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and OpenRoads
Field experience with Trimble and Leica survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations
Skilled in survey data management using Trimble or Android-based devices
Strong self-motivation and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Attend networking events and client meetings to generate new business opportunities in the region
Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Google Earth is a plus
Thorough working knowledge of GPS technologies and their application in land surveying
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment
Must pass a drug screen and background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company MVR policy
