Responsibilities

Design, model and test new mechanical systems that integrate with a JLG’s

Research and execute on continuous improvement request (CIR’s) to support manufacturing, supply chain, and customer feedback/operations

Work with global engineering resources to prepare/revise/review vehicle component layouts using CAD (i.e. Creo Parametric)

Create and manage ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) using the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system

Update bill of materials in the PDM (Product Data Management) system to reflect product changes

Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance

Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc

Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems

Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components

Required

Student working towards a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other related engineering field

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

Preferred

Good oral and written communication skills

Previous internship experience or work-related experience

Previous experience or heightened interest in mechanical design

Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements (SAE teams, etc..)

Experience using Creo Parametric, Pro-E, CATIA or a similar CAD system is a plus

Understanding of basic steel and sheet metal fabrication principles

Knowledge of construction industry and equipment used

Strong mechanical aptitude
