Responsibilities
Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects of various size and complexity
Prepare plan documents and supporting design calculations
Prepare detailed construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Assist project managers and other staff in design oversight, coordination, and other tasks during the proposal, design, and construction phases
Assist in cost estimating, permitting, client relations, and other duties required to deliver a quality product for our clients in a timely manner
Collaborate with other project managers to scope and execute deliverables on multiple projects
Create and maintain a successful client relationship while building new relationships
Some project assignments may include construction observation duties
Mentor, train and/or supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel
Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service
Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism
Qualification
Required
3+ years of diverse roadway design experience
Willingness to perform a variety of tasks supporting various project types and project managers
Working knowledge of aviation planning, programming, design and construction
Construction and estimating experience for public infrastructure projects
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines
Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Autodesk Civil3D and Microsoft Office applications
Proficient in applying ADA/PROWAG criteria in public infrastructure design
Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks
Ability to delegate assignments and determine methods and procedures
Must have a valid driver's license
BS in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Wisconsin (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)
3+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering
Preferred
Working experience with FAA Advisory Circulars and understanding of Bureau of Aeronautics policies and procedures
Outgoing, friendly, approachable
