Employment Associate Attorney

Responsibilities

Provide legal representation to clients, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients appropriately
Advise clients on federal and state employment laws, wage and hour issues, harassment, disability, discrimination and wrongful termination claims and workplace restraining orders
Research and draft motions, employment agreements, employee occupancy agreements, termination agreements, employee contracts, employee handbooks, and workplace policies
Provide litigation defense or prosecution of civil claims
Respond to client concerns to increase and retain business
Participate in industry organizations and affiliated committees to increase the firm’s visibility in the community and within the industry
Represent the firm internally and externally
Other duties as needed to support the legal and management goals of the department

Required

J.D. and an active California Bar license
3-6 years attorney experience
Experience in Employment Law and/or Employment Litigation
Ability to communicate regularly with clients on a range of practice group topics
Ability to multi-task and operate against inflexible deadlines both in a team environment and independently
Excellent attention to detail
Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and reprioritize caseload
Commitment to professional development and continuous learning

Preferred

Experience with Real Estate Litigation
Experience with ProLaw or other billing and document management program
