Inspector, Quality

They are seeking a Quality Inspector responsible for performing inspections of aircraft parts and components to ensure compliance with technical data and quality procedures. The role includes supervising trainees, maintaining communication across departments, and participating in continuous improvement processes.

Responsibilities

Performs visual and physical inspection of incoming product(s)
Uses production control systems and generates reports for product documentation files
Performs final inspection of a completed product (visual, physical and documentation review)
Verification of the maintenance performed (work status), ensuring compliance with OEM data and Customer’s requirements
Verifies completion of the work instructions identified in the R.O and work order number
Ability to read, understand and interpret blue prints, schematics and drawings
Reviews maintenance/service history of products for warranty disposition
Prepares and completes all applicable release documentation following the R.O & WO’s instructions
Validates the certification on behalf of the company
Completes and validates non-conformance tag (NCT) documentation
Maintain open levels of communication with all departments
Ensures compliance to the applicable quality procedures
Participates in continuous improvement of quality and operations processes
Supervises Product Quality Inspector trainees in the on-the-job training (OJT) process
Cross-trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements as needed to support production requirements
Performs other functions as assigned by Quality Manager
Ensures that employees of the repair station are following the procedures established in the repair station manual, FAR’s, (Federal Aviation Regulations) manufacturer’s specifications and applicable customer instructions
Provides general oversight of the shipping/receiving and stores personnel with an emphasis on compliance regarding applicable regulations and procedures as called out by the repair station manual and FARs (Federal Aviation Regulations)
Performs inspections as called out in the repair process or as assigned by Quality Manager
Assists with other duties as dictated by the Quality Manager
Maintains general housekeeping of workspace

Required

Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Quality Inspector
Prior experience with final inspection work in an MRO or general aviation space
Previous experience (3-5 years) with applicable FARs/CFRs
Experienced with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PPP, including Adobe Acrobat – PDF files)
Ability to lift and or move up to 25 pounds
Ability to climb, kneel crouch, or sit for prolonged periods
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Preferred

Knowledgeable with configuration of products processed within the company ratings
Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and dimensional inspection techniques
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry; able to make basic calculations (percentages, areas, circumference, volume, etc.)
Proficient in decision making to ensure compliance to all customer, regulatory and company requirements
Adapts to changes in the work environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Ability to work without close supervision
Detail-oriented, organized, and possesses troubleshooting skills
Willing to work Overtime on an as needed basis
A&P certificate is a plus
ERP/MRP/CRM Systems knowledge a plus (Quantum, SAP, etc.)
