Responsibilities
Provides interpretation and translation services for patients who speak limited English and healthcare staff
Interprets medical information accurately and confidentially
Ensures that patients understand their medical diagnosis, treatment options, and other important information
Provides translations of medical documents, such as records and prescriptions
Qualification
Required
High School / GED required
Excellent communication skills required
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation required
Foreign language(s) written translation skills required
Listening skills required
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information required
Basic computer skills required
Preferred
3-5 years' experience preferred
Certification/Licensure Interpreter/Translator Certificate and/or Certificate of Competency from an approved Interpreter/Translator training program preferred
Ability to work out of normal hours if needed when Voyce cannot be used by the patient preferred
Open to obtaining certification as employee of CUHC
