Behavior Analyst

North Country Community Mental Health is a public behavioral health organization in Northern Michigan dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities

Evaluates individual’s psychological and behavioral needs
Develops and monitors behavioral treatment programs for individuals
Participates in Plan of Service meetings as a member of the clinical team
Presents and participates in others’ behavior plan reviews for the Behavioral Treatment Committee
Responds to psychological concerns for individuals, for individual families, providers, case managers, team members and supervisors
May chair Individual Plan of Services meetings in the absence of the case manager
Advises supervisors, professional and/or paraprofessional staff in the implementation of approved behavioral programs
Promotes therapeutic environments and makes recommendations resulting in specific habilitative support plans
Provides community education to facilitate public awareness and acceptance of behavioral health issues as necessary
Learns new treatment and support methodologies in intellectual/developmental disabilities through self-study, research, in-services and conferences
Provides complete and timely documentation in the paper or electronic clinical record following MDHHS contract requirements, Agency policy and Medicaid Provider requirements
May participate in daytime and after-hours emergency coverage and services
Assists supervisors in conducting and planning in-service trainings, as required
Consults with agency psychiatrists as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Required

Requires a minimum of a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field from an accredited university
Must be fully licensed in the State of Michigan as a Behavior Analyst (LBA)
Minimum of 2-4 years providing services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and serious mental illness
Experience in the facilitation of behavioral assessments and the development of behavioral treatment plans
Must be eligible as either a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) or Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
Ability to walk, bend, stand, sit, lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance, stretch/reach, hear, see, hand/finger dexterity and drive a vehicle
Must be current in all applicable trainings; provided by NCCMH
Must have own phone and internet for communication, reliable access to messages, and multi-factoring capabilities
Ability to visit consumers in their residence or workplace
Possess a valid Michigan's driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record
May participate in 24-hour emergency services through agency on-call system
May transport consumers in agency vehicles and provide own transportation for agency related duties
Assignments may reach 6 counties and may work irregular hours when necessary
Ability to work within guidelines of the code of conduct, regulatory compliance plan, and personnel policies
Supports a philosophy of service delivery that is recovery-based, person-centered and culturally competent
Adhere to applicable policies and procedures as required by the Department of Community Mental Health, the Mental Health Services Board, and other pertinent regulatory agencies
