The Garrett Companies is a full-service multifamily development, construction, and property management team dedicated to creating communities that positively impact their markets. As a Construction Intern, you'll assist Project Managers and Project Engineers through various stages of construction projects, gaining both in-office and on-site experience while supporting the team with documentation and coordination tasks.

Responsibilities

Work closely with a Project Manager to understand the day-to-day responsibilities of overseeing the execution, communication, and teamwork it takes to complete a construction project

Visit construction sites and help track project progress – see how plans become reality and how challenges are managed

Support construction team with subcontractor coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting

Help maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and reports – stay organized and keep everything on track

Become proficient in Procore and assist with daily observation reports, documentation, drawing sets, submittals, and punch lists

Support office and on-site construction teams

Assist with bid analysis, schedule, scope review, and contract drafting

Assist in generating project reports to site team and subcontractors

Required

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management or Construction-related major

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills

Positive attitude

Relentless problem-solving skills

Will never claim the work of others as their own

Ability to anticipate

Understanding the difference between causation and correlation

Willing to work and support at all levels

Preferred

Experience with marketing, public speaking, and presentations is a plus
