Supply Chain Manager - Aerospace

Responsibilities
Determines annual targets and objectives for procurement performance, cost savings and other KPIs including associated execution plans in conjunction with site, division and group business and functional leadership
Leads and supervises day-to-day procurement activities for site. Works with site operations team to conduct and optimize inventory management and SIOP. Ensures proper order placement and expedites deliveries to support site manufacturing needs
Supports Site Operations Lead in meeting site business objectives; leads functional DLA and supports other site DLAs as appropriate, performing pareto-based gap analysis and defines actions to support performance and/or recovery; drives functional MPS
Sources new products and supports new product introduction activities in line with Parker policies, processes and strategy including sourcing, cost targeting and realization, contracting, gate review activities and support, customer requirement flow downs, risk management and other critical NPI and PLM actions
Manages risk within the supply chain and monitors procurement procedures to comply with government laws (domestic/international), regulations and company policy
Provides input to the development of commodity strategies and executes strategies aligned with agreed upon site and/or group requirements
In conjunction with division and group functional teams, develops and deploys procurement processes and practices to drive continuous improvement in site activities
Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
Manages staff selections, performance, development, retention, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
Utilizes best practices and lean techniques to identify, develop and implement strategy, policy, processes, tools, metrics, action plans and countermeasures as required to deliver inventory, suppler performance, total cost (including low-cost region sourcing and work transfer management) and other KPIs
Designs, implements, and manages supplier inventory programs along with appropriate system parameter maintenance required to meet material flow requirements
In conjunction with division and group, leads and supports supplier development and performance management efforts to ensure supply base performance including supplier scorecards, corrective actions, supplier reviews, penalties, and other key supplier engagement activities
Leads supplier contract negotiation in conjunction with site, division and group strategies ensuring effective supplier commercial relationships fully meeting business, risk, working capital (inventory and payment terms/processes), risk and other objectives
Performs other duties as required within the job holder’s capability consistent with the terms and conditions of employment
Ensures compliance with government laws and regulations and company policies and processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor degree in supply chain or related field
7-10 years of procurement experience
Demonstrated capability/experience in an operations procurement leadership role
Experience with electronic material buying
Practical and applied knowledge of aerospace sourcing, purchasing and overall procurement processes, systems, and practices
Working knowledge in lean manufacturing concepts and techniques with significant exposure to supplier inventory programs such as kanban and consignment
Proven ability to drive change and continuously improve processes for effectiveness in procurement cost, quality, and delivery across a site
Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations
Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members
Demonstrated ability to lead and prioritize in a rapid changing and demanding environment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams as well as communicate effectively across all levels both internally and externally with suppliers and customers in a timely and effective manner
Outstanding spreadsheet utilization skills along with proficiency in word processing and presentation
Ability and willingness to travel (domestic/international)
Preferred
Analytical degree (i.e., Math/Engineering)
Aerospace background
Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and engineering specification
Familiarity in a commercial aviation environment dealing with FAR regulations
