Responsibilities
Assist in conducting regular safety inspections on construction sites, identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices
Learn to assess potential risks associated with various construction activities and provide recommendations for mitigating those risks
Participate in safety training sessions and workshops, helping to educate workers on proper procedures, equipment usage, and emergency protocols
Gain exposure to responding to on-site incidents, participating in investigations, and contributing to the development of corrective and preventive measures
Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies and procedures that align with industry standards and company values
Collaborate with teams to promote a strong safety culture, engaging in campaigns, initiatives, and communication efforts to raise awareness and accountability
Help maintain accurate safety records, incident reports, and documentation related to safety compliance
Learn to conduct safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and identify areas for improvement
Gain insights into the use of safety-related technologies and tools, contributing to the adoption of innovative safety solutions
Engage in ongoing learning about safety regulations, industry trends, and emerging practices to stay up-to-date with the latest developments
Learn from experienced safety professionals the interpersonal skills needed to project effective leadership on complex projects under demanding timelines. You will learn strategies to positively influence others, even when they do not directly report to you
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in a degree program related to Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a relevant field
Basic understanding of construction safety regulations, standards, and practices
Familiarity with safety inspection procedures, hazard identification, and risk assessment
Effective verbal and written communication abilities for safety reporting and collaboration
Ability to analyze work environments, tasks, and procedures to identify safety concerns
Meticulous in observing and reporting potential safety hazards on construction sites
Willingness to address safety issues and contribute to proactive solutions
Collaborative attitude to work closely with safety professionals, project teams, and contractors
Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate safety records and reports
Openness to adapting safety strategies to changing project conditions and requirements
Eagerness to learn about safety regulations, industry best practices, and emergency protocols
