Technical Sales Intern - Summer 2026

The Technical Sales Intern position focuses on vendor and customer relationships while providing hands-on experience and exposure to food processing and industrial manufacturing. Interns will work cross-functionally with sales and purchasing teams to assist with lead generation and develop technical selling skills.

Responsibilities

Responsible for learning overall business of Hydrite, including chemistry, customers, and other cross-functional teams within the business
Attend joint sales calls alongside Account Managers and Regional Managers to build sales acumen and enhance consultative, technical selling skills
Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales
Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels
Create and prepare reports, downloads, spreadsheets and presentations using Hydrite systems
Receive, organize and maintain all vendor cost documentation in vendor price books
Determine cost change strategies with assigned Purchasing Agents and update records
Complete job shadows in food processing and industrial manufacturing accounts to learn Hydrite’s product applications
Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer challenges, escalating as required. This could include, attending trials, performing chemical testing and other technical responsibilities at customer accounts
Perform market research and provide recommendations to sales leadership team
Assist with bench chemistry, sample preparations & chemical testing at the Milwaukee Technical Center, as projects require
Present final project and findings to Hydrite’s owners and executives at the conclusion of the summer internship

Required

Currently enrolled in accredited university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry/Business preferred
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word and Excel required
Must be a self-starter
Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English
