Associate Environmental Geologist/Engineer/Scientist

SLR Consulting is a nationwide team of advisory, environmental, and engineering professionals committed to sustainability. The Associate Environmental Geologist/Engineer/Scientist will assist in contaminated site investigation and remediation, working closely with clients and other teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

Work with clients from a variety of industries
Collect groundwater, surface water, and soil samples
Review State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability to site cleanup
Assist other SLR teams with work in a variety of disciplines including air monitoring, waste management, permitting, and compliance
Travel to clients' facilities for inspections and document review
Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments

Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering
4 to 6 years of relevant work experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical skills, organizational, and multitasking skills
Ability to solve basic calculations and unit conversions
Experience presenting analytical results in tabular and graphical forms
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
Willing to commit to field assignments of up to two weeks away from Anchorage
Possess valid driver's license

Preferred

PFAS remediation
MS Degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science
Groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling experience
Skill/experience conducting hazardous materials surveys and sampling
Experience in technical writing
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
Understanding of industrial operations and equipment, large and small
Knowledge of Alaska environmental regulations
