Harness Design Engineer Intern (Winter 2026)
Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, expanding humanity’s reach into the solar system. As a Harness Design Engineer Intern, you will work on designing spacecraft harnessing and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define interfaces between subsystems.

Responsibilities
Work with the harnessing design team on designing flight and test harnessing
Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings of spacecraft harnessing
Work with cross-functional teams to define interfaces between different subsystems
Use CAD programs to route harnessing in 3D
Utilize EE fundamentals to select appropriate design components based on various requirements like voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate
Work with production to fabricate in-house cables
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in mechatronics or electrical engineering (or equivalent technical degree)
Interest in learning about, designing, and working with various spacecraft systems and subsystems
Familiar with power and data transmission concepts
U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required
Preferred
Experience with Zuken (or other harness design software)
Experience with various connectors and wire types including MIL circular and D-Sub/microD
Experience with 3D CAD software like Solidworks
