Responsibilities

Full cycle PCB design, including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug, and integration with the system

Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within marine propulsion hardware subsystems

Develop analog front-end circuits with high accuracy and noise immunity

Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews

Low-level firmware development for bring-up and test

Required

Strong physics fundamentals for a first-principles problem-solving approach

Experience with rapid prototyping and design validation through extensive testing

Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc

Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices and technologies

Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits

Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium)

Experience in design for signal integrity/power integrity

Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits

Test experience, including data acquisition, analysis, and project coordination

Preferred

Experience with high-voltage power conversion systems (inverters, DC-DC converters, motor controllers)

Ability to build first-article physical prototypes by hand

Shop floor fluency with circuitry (soldering, reflow, ovens, pick and place, wiring, etc.)

Experience with relevant vendors
