Tax Incentive Engineer

Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, field notes, and photographs to help develop accurate 3D models of existing buildings
Perform energy modeling simulations for 179D using DOE software
Prepare clear and professional project documentation and communicate progress with internal teams and clients
Assist PE with commercial building inspections
Assist with the determination of project methodologies taking advantage of available client information and documentation
Assist with determination of qualified research expenditures
Assist with review of R&E tax credit project deliverables including reports and project narratives
Participate in client/prospect calls and meetings to identify potential research tax credit opportunities
Assist with client/prospect follow up for the development of credit estimates and proposals

Required

Proficiency with CAD Software
Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
High attention to detail, initiative and follow through
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly motivated, professional, energetic and resourceful
Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as a team member
Comfortable engaging with clients
Ability to review and analyze construction drawings

Preferred

EIT or working towards EIT
Desire to become a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with data analytics tools, including Power Pivot and Power Query
Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry
Knowledge of commercial building HVAC
Experience with energy modeling software
