Responsibilities
Perform various waived, moderately and highly complex hematologic, chemical, immunohematology, immunologic/serologic, microscopic, and microbiological tests on specimens to obtain data for use in diagnosis or treatment of diseases
Obtain specimens by capillary, arterial, and venous punctures
Perform troubleshooting and calibrations
Participate in the quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives
May also orientate and train new employees and/or students
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in MLS and 1 year of experience or an Associate's degree in MLT and 2 years of experience required
Knowledge of lab equipment, quality control methods, and report management required
Preferred
National certification as an MT/MLS/MLT by an approved agency (ASCP or AMT) preferred
Two years Lab Tech I or II experience preferred
