Tool Die Maker

Cretex Medical is a leading contract manufacturer of precision components and assemblies for the medical device industry. The Tool Die Maker will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving fixtures, gauges, and progressive tooling, while contributing to the quality and efficiency of production operations.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance on production-ready stamping tooling to ensure optimal performance
Accurately document all activities in required databases and records
Troubleshoot tooling issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Collaborate closely with team members to apply best practices in maintaining and qualifying progressive tooling
Monitor and support the refinement of toolroom processes to improve efficiency and quality
Set up and operate manual toolroom equipment to produce high-quality, precise tooling components, fixtures, and other parts
Set up and operate toolroom measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications
Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality

Required

Technical degree or equivalent machine tool experience
3+ years building or maintaining progressive tooling
Strong knowledge of cutting and forming, ability to troubleshoot by reading a progressive strip, and knowledge of the theory of cutting and forming in the stamping process
Proven troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and effective solutions
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
High level of mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Preferred

Proficient in SolidWorks
Medical device manufacturing
Progressive tooling experience
Basic skills and knowledge of Lean Principles and toolroom process workflow
