Responsibilities
Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation using tools such as MS Office Suite
Direct and review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality
Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions
Assist in the design and preparation of plans for commercial, residential, and site development projects, such as roads, bridges, water supply networks, sewage systems, and public parks
Analyze design alternatives to address site constraints and meet client objectives – keeping time and budget priority
Collaborate on permitting and regulatory compliance for site development projects
Assist in the design, planning, and preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates for new municipal infrastructure projects
Support the planning, analysis, and design of water, wastewater, drainage, and transportation systems
Prepare reports, calculations, and presentations for internal use and public meetings
Coordinate with internal departments (architects, urban planners, and construction managers, etc.), utility companies, contractors, and regulatory agencies to coordinate projects and ensure compliance with local regulations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
1–5 years of professional civil engineering experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design tools
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, hydrology, and municipal infrastructure systems
EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Reliability and dependability
Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed
