IT Sr. Database Administrator | Helios Infrastructure

They are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to manage and maintain production and non-production databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance while supporting multiple high-impact services.

Responsibilities
Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases, software systems and third party IT products
Leads the planning, design, development, release management, troubleshooting and support of database components, software systems and third party IT products
Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration
Troubleshooting application issues and/or data issues when they arise
Communicate solutions, issues, and risks directly with technical management or other responsible entities
Ensures appropriate security, backup, and recovery on Database Management Systems
Configures database parameters
Prototypes designs against logical data models
Defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements
Optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost
Supports multiple services and multiple databases of high impact, high importance, and high complexity
Ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data
Part of an IT team that is accountable for production support (including on-call duties in a 24x7 environment) as well as new projects
Led database development projects and advised management and users on new or optimal technologies or methods to improve the functionality and/or efficiency of the organization's databases
Coached, trained, and mentored less senior professionals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
7 years of applicable work experience required, with 5 years as a DBA
Good expertise with healthcare industry and COTS products
Good understanding of any major EHR solution
Good understanding of server virtualization technologies
Ability to work off hours in 24X7 production support environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to peer review functional and technical tasks
Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Experience in a Healthcare setting preferred
