Wade Trim is seeking a Substation Structural Engineering Summer Intern for their ICE group in Michigan. The intern will assist in the design of civil/structural components for electrical substation projects and will gain exposure to structural design standards and codes.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations

Utilize finite element modeling and other engineering software to assist in the design of complex, multi-legged and multi-use, deep foundations

Perform hand calculations to assist designs that cannot or should not be done using software

Assist in the preparation of construction drawings

Assist in the preparation of fabrication level steel drawings and bill of materials

Assist in the preparation of construction specifications and project documents

Attend site visits if possible

Assist Project Managers

Maintain a safe working environment

Qualification

Required

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering

Valid Driver's License is required

Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required

Excellent organizational and communication skills are required

Self-motivated and very organized

Junior or senior status preferred
