Mariner is a financial services firm focused on positively impacting the lives of its clients through comprehensive wealth management. The Financial Planning Intern will assist in client service activities, gain experience in financial planning, and support Advisors in onboarding and meeting preparation.

Responsibilities
Observe client meetings (where appropriate) to gain firsthand experience in how Advisors build relationships and solve client challenges
Participate in client meeting follow-up tasks including documentation, research, and solution development
Contribute ideas during team discussions on improving client service and business development opportunities
Support client service activities, including account maintenance and money movement processes
Use financial planning and CRM software to assist with plan development and data management
Assist with data entry, plan modeling, and compiling plan deliverables
Collaborate with team members on special projects and client service initiatives
Support client onboarding by preparing and processing necessary paperwork
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree with an expected graduation date within 12 months of the start of the internship (May 2026)
Demonstrated leadership experience through work or extracurricular activities
Strong customer service skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable contributing ideas in group settings
Clear and professional written and verbal communication
Ability to communicate complex topics in a simple, relatable way
Curiosity and eagerness to learn about financial markets, planning strategies, and client motivations and decision-making
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a willingness to learn financial planning tools and CRM systems
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship needs
Available full-time during Summer 2026 (8–10 weeks)
Preferred
Majoring in Financial Planning, Wealth Management, Finance, Economics, Psychology, Communications, Marketing, Sociology, or a related field
Interest in pursuing a client-facing advisory career, with a focus on business development and relationship management
