Responsibilities
Facilitate new product ideation, design, and prototype creation and manufacturing
Effectively communicate with different key members across different functions – engineering, industrial design, marketing, sourcing, leadership, suppliers, clients, etc
Help to create 3D CAD designs for new product concepts and products
Help to complete technical studies and prepare cost estimates
Confirm product performance by designing and conducting product testing
Help to maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems in a timely manner
Perform competitor product research, create product landscapes and conduct end user research to identify new product opportunities and potential new features to address existing pain points or opportunities for improvement
This is a hands-on role which will require time in the prototype and test labs building and testing prototypes and off-tool samples. Candidates must be capable of running basic shop equipment as required to meet the project goals. Candidates with experience designing, building, fabricating, and fixing their own personal projects are preferred
In addition to the items listed above, the engineering intern may be periodically asked to assist with other facets of the business as necessary
Qualification
Required
Entry-level experience
Engineering student or other related discipline with technical skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite, project management software and CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
