Principal Network Architect
Tanaq Technical Services (TTS) is an Alaskan Native Small Business specializing in delivering Enterprise Integrated Technology Solutions and Support Services to the Federal Government. They are seeking a Principal Network Architect to design secure, scalable, and reliable network architectures for the Government’s cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring compliance with federal security standards.
Responsibilities
Provide high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff
Develop architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines in line with the organization's strategy and goals
Develop a strategy for the system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy
Advise on selection of technological purchases with regard to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development
Sets standards for the client/server relational database structure for the organization (SQL, ORACLE, SYBASE, etc.)
Advise on the feasibility of potential future projects to management
Track current plans
Monitor and review the success of systems and ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Qualification
Required
Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering and architecture design
Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FISMA, and federal security standards
Familiarity with Remedy, Cisco ACI, Palo Alto, AWS VPC, Azure Networking
Experience managing network architecture projects for a federal government agency
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to pass required Federal background screening/security check, including basic and expanded investigations. Ability to obtain and maintain both government clearance and customer approval
U.S. citizenship required
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent certification or years of experience)
Candidates must reside in or within commutable distance of Suitland, Maryland
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Preferred
Knowledge of federal government network and security policies, data protection standards, and risk management practices, preferred
Professional Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Engineer (CCIE), Cisco Certified Architect (CCAR), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty, or similar certifications, highly desired
