Broadcast Engineer

Tennis Channel is seeking an experienced Broadcast Engineer to service, maintain, and innovate within their live sports broadcast environment. The role involves supporting live studio productions and ensuring the seamless delivery of sports programming while maintaining broadcast systems and providing technical support.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and hands-on troubleshooting of a wide array of video, audio, and IT equipment—both on-site and at remote production locations
Maintain and update broadcast IP-based systems, including software, hardware, and LAN applications across the facility
Support and train engineering staff on Avid systems, automation platforms, production control, master control, transmission, and digital operations center workflows
Respond to technical issues involving broadcast or computer systems—including during off-hours and emergencies
Ensure all software systems remain updated and compliant with licensing and corporate IT security standards
Uphold a high standard of engineering practices by adhering to OSHA safety rules, installing equipment per CAD designs, executing clean cable management and labeling, and maintaining comprehensive documentation and SOPs
Collaborate with leadership on future infrastructure planning, budgeting, and equipment upgrades
Provide flexible shift coverage based on production needs—including early mornings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and swing shifts
Travel periodically to support remote productions and live tennis tournaments throughout the year

Required

Minimum 5 years of experience in broadcast television engineering
Proven leadership ability and exceptional communication skills
Strong understanding of modern broadcast technology and a team-first mentality
Extensive experience with Avid, EVS, and cloud-based media workflows, including media archiving and storage
Expertise in automation systems for live production, master control, transmission, and streaming
Hands-on experience with installation and optimization of SMPTE 2110 broadcast systems
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule as business demands, including nights, weekends, and holidays
