Responsibilities

Support design efforts for T-ALTs, OERA, Machinery selection, and auxiliary systems design and analysis. May assist the Machinery Systems Engineering Manager (SEM) and be selected in a similar role based on experience
Task management and interface with Government POC. Provide direct support to Navy Ship Design Managers (SDMs). Support the design, development, and construction of main machinery, ship systems, DPS, propulsion, and other machinery systems, and mission systems interfaces for the MSC and US NAVY ship acquisition programs
Develop preliminary system designs including schematics and Ship Specification to ensure design elements meets Capability Development Document (CDD) and all regulatory body requirements. Travel to perform ship checks based on ship availability or 3D model review to investigate system/equipment to incorporate into each work package
Development of marine auxiliary and piping systems, review and analyzing preliminary and functional design documentation and development of ship system specifications
Provided technical and program management oversight for acquisition program S&T efforts Provide technical advice and recommendations on best practices for Shipboard system designs
Provide technical support on various engineering projects alone and as part of an engineering team primarily in support of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Military Sealift Command (MSC)
Create a supportive environment by fostering a culture of integrity and trust where your character and innovation are valued
Lead engineering efforts across multiple ship design programs
Providing technical oversite and program management
Prepared statements of work, project research execution plans, and independent government cost estimates
Participated in feasibility studies to analyze, evaluate, and determine practicality and adaptability of proposed S&T solutions

Required

U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain
Experience in ship auxiliary systems experience, which should include auxiliary system operation, maintenance, and design work for machinery upgrades and/or analyses for commercial, MSC, and/or Navy vessels
Strong ability to read, interpret, and develop mechanical and electrical drawings and technical manuals
Detailed knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Body standards and ability to develop and prepare ship documents for compliance with ABS Rules, Navy Standards, and other applicable engineering standards
Experience with Military Sealift Command (MSC) marine engineering and/or Navy design practices
Experience or capable of a leadership role on an engineering team with proven track record in leading teams of at least 10 members in multidisciplinary engineering projects
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years of US Naval Ship Engineering
Solid understanding of naval engineering disciplines and project management principles
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent professional experience

Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and/or 3D
