Application Systems Analyst

Henry Ford College is seeking an Applications Systems Analyst to support their Student ERP systems and various IT projects. The role involves planning, designing, and implementing information systems while collaborating with end users to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Serves as primary support for the College's Student ERP systems, supporting areas such as Enrollment Services, Registration & Financial Aid
Serves as backup support for Student Self Service & Portal
Maintains familiarity with new technology standards and how each may be applied to the future growth and development of the services provided by the Ellucian Colleague ERP system, including the Perceptive Content and Dynamic Forms systems
IT lead on various projects pertaining to the ERP system
Integrate 3rd party software with the student ERP systems
Evaluates, installs, tests, configures, maintains, tunes, and troubleshoots application programming within the Colleague ERP
Follow established procedures for process customizations and development, including documenting and obtaining user approval on modifications and/or process results
Consults with users to identify and analyze computer support needs. Develop and recommend specifications for new applications and propose changes to existing applications on the administrative systems
Assists with writing technical and user documentation pertaining to the administrative systems
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups. Conducts training on accessing/utilizing computer resources and applications
Work with departments to identify system requirements and solve moderately complex business problems. Analyzes and revises existing system logic
Assists departments in developing procedures and trains staff in using computer systems. Performs work with limited supervision. Possesses an understanding of the business and user needs, equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results to provide data solutions

Required

This position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in information technology and/or institutional research
Microsoft applications and operating systems, including Office 365, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019+
Familiar with MS SQL Server 2016 or later
Knowledge of programming technologies, including PowerShell, React
Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) systems
Demonstrated ability to use complex analytic judgment and ingenuity to plan and perform difficult work where only general methods may be available
Demonstrated ability to create new processes and procedures where existing methods do not exist, mainly focused on analyzing new external mandates and internal priorities to develop accurate and efficient responses
Strong desire to work with highly complicated technical projects and problems that require exceptional judgment, considerable ingenuity, and initiative in dealing with factors that are not easily evaluated
Ability to develop, evaluate, enhance, and/or implement quality improvement practices, processes, procedures, or policies that impact College operations
Excellent time management skills, balancing multiple priorities and remaining highly productive
Ability to work independently or on cross-functional teams to lead the design and development of complex solutions to achieve customer objectives
Confidence to make decisions carrying a great deal of responsibility for which there is little or no precedent
Demonstrated interest in professional development and learning new skills, processes, and technologies
Ability to develop and promote a department culture conducive to effective relationships among diverse teams and audiences, coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders related to complex reporting and data analysis
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; the ability to present and communicate complex, technical information to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff verbally and in writing is essential
