MECHANICAL ENGINEER V
City and County of Honolulu is seeking a Mechanical Engineer V to perform professional engineering work in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems. The role includes reviewing plans and specifications for compliance with plumbing and mechanical codes, and supervising related engineering tasks.

Responsibilities
Performs difficult professional engineering work in supervising and participating in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems, and/or in the review and analysis of plans and specifications for mechanical engineering features and compliance with code requirements; and performs other related duties as required
Performs professional mechanical engineering work in reviewing and approving plans, specifications and calculations of major buildings and structures for compliance with the Plumbing code and/or other pertinent codes or regulations, pertaining to air conditioning, ventilation, fire sprinklers and other mechanical systems
Qualification
Required
Must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States
One year of registered professional mechanical engineering experience
Possession of a valid license as a professional mechanical engineer in the State of Hawaii
Applicants with a current out-of-state professional mechanical engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required
