Responsibilities
Performs CT and Radiology procedures and diagnostic evaluations of patient, which include a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed exposure parameters for CT or Radiology procedures according to patient age, mental, and physical status
Assesses patient needs relevant to CT or Radiology procedures
Stocks rooms with adequate supplies and maintains an orderly working area
Maintains adequate records as directed to ensure safety, proper care of patients, and diagnostic quality of CT or Radiology examinations
Maintains records and performs Quality Assurance/ Quality Control checks as needed
Consistently uses radiation protection measures such as time, collimation, and shielding
Follows hospital policy regarding pain management and use of restraints for patients
Demonstrates working knowledge of the PACS and MediTech systems
Provides clinical instruction to students, and precepts new techs
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Current ARRT certification
Current NM State license
AHA BLS certification within 3 months of hire
One year Radiology experience required
Computer proficiency required
Preferred
One year CT Tech experience preferred
Willingness to cross train in other modalities highly preferred
