*Career Services Intern

NEOGOV is seeking a part-time Career Services Intern to support the Advising, Counseling, & Support Services Department. This role involves assisting students with career resources, planning events, conducting research on job opportunities, and maintaining resource libraries.

Responsibilities

Assist students with accessing career resources, including online job boards, resume templates, and career exploration materials
Support the planning and execution of career-related events, such as job fairs, workshops, and employer presentations
Conduct research on internships, part-time jobs, and volunteer opportunities for students and maintain a database of available positions
Help students navigate career assessment tools and provide basic interpretations of assessment results
Assist in maintaining an organized and updated physical and digital resource library, ensuring resources are easily accessible to students
Collaborate with the Career Services Coordinator in creating and updating content for the department's social media platforms and website
Aid in collecting and analyzing data related to student engagement with career services programs and initiatives
Serve as a point of contact for students needing to follow up on career exploration appointments and assistance with job searching
Perform general office duties such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies
Participate in other tasks as assigned

Required

Currently enrolled as a student at Victoria College or Victoria College alumni continuing their education at another institution. Enrollment is required
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with online platforms and social media
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Reliable and punctual with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Commitment to maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for all students

Preferred

Basic understanding of resume writing and job search strategies preferred
