Senior LevelNorthwestern University is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Fellow position in their Thoracic Surgery Division. The role focuses on the immunology of organ transplantation or lung diseases, utilizing contemporary research tools and techniques to uncover mechanisms related to allograft dysfunction and rejection.

Responsibilities
Independently plan, perform, and analyze data from animal and cell culture experiments; Develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols; Develop and characterize novel biomaterials for therapeutic delivery
Work and communicate with internal and external research collaborators
To supervise research residents, students, and laboratory technicians working on collaborative projects in the lab
To help write and contribute to publications and grant proposals resulting from research done in the lab as well as present findings at national and international meetings
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
PhD/MD degree in Immunology, Biology, Biomedical Science, Transplant, or a closely related field
Highly motivated individual who demonstrates creativity and independence in their thinking
Animal model skills are required
Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated and organized, detail-oriented, and work independently
Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written)
Must be eligible to work in the US
Preferred
Immunology background or Mouse research experience
Expertise in immunology and cell biology, particularly those with a focus on lung medicine
