Lead Manufacturing Engineer, Heat Treatment, Special Projects
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture critical components faster and cheaper. The Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Heat Treatment will oversee the design, planning, and automation of Heat Treatment processes, leading a small team and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure efficient production lines.

Responsibilities
Oversee drawing reviews, CapEx planning, and automation feedback for Heat Treatment as part of the Factories as a Service team
Work across all manufacturing methods, being the Lead Engineer for scoping, designing, planning, and automation feedback for Heat Treatment
Review drawings for manufacturability quickly, select the right CapEx for part numbers and assemblies, and advise the automation team on best practices for Heat Treatment
Assist in building new factories for existing production scope and contribute to the manufacturing processes of new products where Heat Treatment is a designed-in function
Recruit and lead 1-2 Heat Treatment MEs to assist, and work with Hadrian’s Automation and Factories Leadership teams to design and ship comprehensive Heat Treatment production and inspection lines
Analyse customer drawings and current state of production to design, build, and guide automation of Heat Treatment DFM, Production, and Inspection Lines
Contribute as a key player in factories as a service efforts
Deliver cost/schedule/solutions in partnership with our customers and the Federal team
Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Qualification
Required
Senior Manager or above level who's technically in the weeds, with deep expertise in Heat Treatment production and inspection
Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
Capable of leading 1-2 Heat Treatment MEs
Able to analyse DFM, and design/plan production and inspection lines for Heat Treatment
Prior experience standing up new Heat Treatment lines in Aerospace, Automotive, or other domains
Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
Preferred
Software or automation experience is not required, but helpful
Working knowledge of Heat Treatment technology and CapEx
