Responsibilities
Assist with operating room set-up and intraoperative patient care including retractor holding and camera holding
Perform surgical skills such as opening surgical supplies, gowning and gloving all members of the surgical team, and assisting the Circulator in prepping the patient
Maintain aseptic technique during the surgical procedure and identify breaks in aseptic technique, demonstrating corrective actions if necessary
Prepare operating rooms for use by damp mopping and dusting all horizontal surfaces, and anticipate and provide needed equipment for surgical cases
Assist the Surgical Team with room turn-over to maintain targeted room turnover between surgical cases
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
CPR - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider
Ability to maintain aseptic technique during the surgical procedure
Ability to identify breaks in aseptic technique and demonstrate corrective actions if aseptic technique is compromised
Preferred
One year previous experience as a surgical patient care technician
