Western Nevada College is seeking a student employee for the Teacher's Aide position at the Child Development Center. The role involves organizing activities with children according to the curriculum, assisting with various developmentally appropriate activities, and maintaining a safe environment.

Responsibilities

Organizing activities with children in accordance with the curriculum as prepared by the head teacher

Singing, reading stories and other language arts

Assisting with other developmentally appropriate activities throughout the day

Cleaning

Organizing environment

Interacting with the children in various activities to include but not limited to spontaneous reading, word play, navigating and problem-solving social interactions

Assisting in conflict resolution

Maintaining the safety of the environment

Qualification

Required

TB test is required upon hire

Initial training to be completed within 90 days of employment: CPR, First Aid, Symptoms of Illness, Child Abuse and Neglect, SIDS, etc

Enrollment in at least 6 credits each regular semester

Be in a degree seeking program

Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements: 67% completion rate in the last enrolled semester, 67% cumulative completion rate, 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Have not exceeded the maximum number of credits allowed (90) or received two degrees

Be authorized to work in the United States
