Responsibilities

Coordinating and assisting with the execution of geotechnical site explorations and associated reporting

Managing geotechnical field engineers

Overseeing the geotechnical aspects of Michels’ internal material testing facilities

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering, 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination

Experience working in a geotechnical laboratory, assisting with site investigations, and report writing

Currently holding a Professional Engineer (PE) license

Ability to accommodate occasional travel for meetings, site visits, and short-term field assignments (less than 1 week to support field staff)

Must possess a valid driver's license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team

Preferred

Prior geotechnical laboratory management experience

Actively involved in professional societies and on technical committees related to work
