Responsibilities

Design and develop transportation infrastructure, including roads, highways, bridges, and traffic management systems
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, engineers, contractors, and local agencies
Assist in project management tasks, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation
Prepare detailed engineering reports, designs, and drawings according to VDOT standards and guidelines
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to transportation engineering
Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field
4-7 years of experience in transportation engineering, including design and project management
Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with the intention to obtain a PE within 1 year
Knowledge of VDOT standards, specifications, and project delivery processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
